Children's Church Message 10-26-08

Today in children's church we talked about a portion of Revelation 19:6,7 that reads "Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him" The main part of this passage we talked about was the word "omnipotent" and what that word means. The kids thought that the words "powerful", "greatest", and "awesome" described the word omnipotent. As we continued on we talked about what each of us thinks God looks like. We had some great answers to that question, as you can imagine. We then moved into how our awesome God is the great artist that created all of creation including his greatest work of art "US." If you want to see how detailed He made us, put your face in front of the mirror and look as close as you can into your eyes. Notice the layers of detail and workmanship He has put into just that one part of us. God is AWESOME!

Take a look below at how some other kids answered the question "What does God look like?"

Children's Church Message 10-19-08

Children's Church Message 10-19-08
In children's church we spoke about friends that sometimes may mislead us and possibly even put us in danger. Only through God and His word can we find the true way to go. We can not place our faith in men, because they will let us down. Some on purpose and some by mistake. Hebrews 13:5 . . . God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” In Luke 15:3-7 we read the parable of the lost sheep. “Then Jesus told them this parable: ‘Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, “Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.” I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent’" This parable shows us the importance of each of us in the eye of God.

Exciting Times Coming Soon!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the new blog for the Children's Ministry of South Seminole Baptist Church. There are some great and exciting things that are coming up for the children of our church. As many of you may know, we have been working very hard to complete the new Children's Church set. This new set will give our kids an opportunity to see the "Word of God" be brought to life as they lift Jesus up in songs of praise, as they see puppets involved in music and in skits, as the children themselves take part in acting out many of the Bible stories, while they also get to experience lots of unique object lessons, and of course there is the 8 foot tall Bible that will help present God's Word in an exciting way. In addition to the Upgrades in our Sunday morning Children's Church we also are updating our entire Children's Department in the educational wing of the church. The nursery has recently been completed and it looks beautiful. The classrooms have been totally redone from paint to fixtures to toys it looks great. The older kids classes are now being started on and will have a small town theme when completed. I hope parents and kids alike will get involved in this wonderful ministry. God is doing some great things!
Check back often, updates will be made as much as possible.

Give Him Praise!!!
