HELP! We Need a Name for our new Children's Church

It is time to choose a name for our new children's church. If any of our kids would like give an idea for the name of our new children's church please let me know no later than December 7 . I will let the kids know what our top 5 choices are and then they can vote for the new name on December 14. Remember that our new set will focus around drama and bible stories, object lessons and as always there will be lots of singing. Puppets will also be an important part of our kid's church plus lots of kid participation. The new name will be announced in January at a special Sunday morning service. All of our adults, with the choir Bro. Ron all of the kids and everything else will move over to the gym for the official kick off of the new children's church.

Children's Church Message 11-16-08

Today was a great day in children's church, we had a big crowd of kids and they were very excited for some reason today. During our music time we did some of the kids favorite songs. We started off with Jesus will pick you up, and then Jesus you're my Superhero, our worship song was He knows my name.

Here is the video of Superhero that we used during worship.

Today's message was on using the tools that God has given you. God has given all of us tools to do different things, all of which are to build up the Body of Christ (others and God). Some have the ability to draw, to teach, to sing, to build things, to write stories, to dance, to help people, to play an instrument, to work on cars, to paint, to understand difficult things, to talk to people, and many other things. God word tells us to do all that we do to the Glory of God. That means we Get to Praise God in Everything We Do!!! That is AWESOME! Every type of work may not be "church work", but it can be done with the best attitude possible and to the best of our ability so that we might please God. If you have a job doing something, do your best. If you are trying to find out how you can serve God in you church, you may want to see if you can use the skills you have from your job in the church in any way. If you are a teacher, you could teach a class or help train others. If you work on cars, you could drive the bus or help maintain it. If you are in construction, you could help build sets at Christmas time or Easter for plays. Never forget that we are always in training for the service of God.

This is a video that goes right along with this message, the parable of the talents.

Children's Church Message 11-02-08

Today was an exciting day. We were able to move back into the gym and have children's church with the help our brand new set. I will post pictures as soon as possible. As the weeks go on the set will be used for puppets, kids singing, drama, video and much more. All of the improvements that have been made in this ministry have been made to help kids come to a closer relationship with out Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Here are the notes for children's church this morning.

Consider Your Wealth

Haggai 1:5-6 pg 920 nlt Consider your ways, You have planted much, but harvest little

Act 20:35 Paul said ....It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Romans 12:6-10 pg1119 nlt

God has given us gifts so we may give to others in service to Him.

I feels nice to receive a gift, doesn't it?
It doesn't take long for that feeling to go away because we always seem to want more.

What does it feel like to give a gift?
How long does that feeling last?
To see the look on someone's face when they are given a gift can be a huge blessing, that can last a lifetime.

I believe that God has built into us the desire to give. He has given us the greatest gift of His son Jesus as an example of how much we should be willing to sacrifice to meet the needs of others.

The nice feeling should not be the motive of our giving. Serving God and actually wanting to serve others should be our motive. I believe it is not enough to only want to serve God in giving to others, because we can easily only go through the motions and not care for those we are serving and just try to please God.
It is also not enough to only try to serve others. We must want to serve the LORD God as we serve others, because He must be the most important part of everything we do.

God gave Jesus, not out of duty, but out of genuine love for each one of us.

John 3:16
